Mama/baby yoga (Wed-Friday 8am-8:45am): (Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in and bring a towel and/or a mat if you have one) Instructor: Elizabeth Strong

Babywearing walk (Wed-Friday 8am-8:45am): This will be led by one of the local yokels because we won't get lost. Baby Carrier Contest (Wed- Friday all day): The Rigby Museum will be displaying baby carriers from our contest AND historical carriers! Make sure to check out this display that will be within walking distance of the conference. To learn more about how to enter the contest, read here! Sewing Lab: This will be held every day during classes and run by experienced baby carrier sewing divas! The following classes will be 1 hour long and held once during the conference (More classes will be added as registration fills up): Normalized Breastfeeding (Wednesday 9-10am): Instructor: Arie Brentnall-Compton Many are unaware that currently taught breastfeeding technique works against a baby's physiology, impeding successful breastfeeding. Simple concepts allow lactation consultants to show parents how complex problems can be prevented and resolved by giving the baby what it physiologically expects.

Babywearing Basics (Wednesday 9-10am): Instructors: Jan Andrea Heirtzler, Rochelle Price, Diane Pepin Supports: Kimber Tower, New to babywearing? Want to learn what all the buzz is about? Have no clue what babywearing even is? This class is for you! Back Carries (Wednesday 9-10am): Due to the popularity of this class, there will be 2 blocks held concurrently. We will assign your room at the conference. Instructors Block A: Giselle Baturay, Elizabeth Strong Support: Heidi Donnelly Instructors Block B: Jen Wadleigh Tiffany Leonard Take your babywearing years further by learning to back carry! We will show you basic and advanced carries using all kinds of carriers.

Ring Slings and Pouches (Wednesday 10:30-11:30am): Instructors: Jan Andrea Heirtzler, Diane Pepin, Susan Gmeiner Most babywearers started with a ring sling or a pouch, but do you really know how to ROCK these carriers? Learn the tricks to these one shouldered beauties.

Wrapping with Kristi (aka Wrapping III) (Wednesday 10:30-11:30am): Instructor: Kristi Hayes-Devlin This class is for extremely advanced, HARDCORE wrappers who can ruck in their sleep, santa toss with grace and chest belt one handed. Kristi will be doing the newest, most complicated, ROCKINGEST carries you can do with a spoc. (If you did not understand that sentence entirely, this class is NOT for you. Please take a different wrap class instead.) Introduction to Cloth Diapers and Elimination Communication (Wednesday 10:30-11:30am): Instructors: Kelley Mason, Tonya Taylor Do you want to save money or go green but maybe the idea of safety pins and dirty diaper buckets or accidents on the fancy rug terrify you? Take this class taught by moms who have been there and are willing to share their knowledge on how to start, ideas and tips to make the transition easier and the benefits of both cloth diapering and elimination communication!

Now What! Babywearing assisting the transition into motherhood (Wednesday 10:30-11:30am): Instructor: Arie Brentnall-Compton I'm at home with my baby- Now What!? The transition into motherhood can be difficult. Learn how babywearing can help establish breastfeeding & address common breastfeeding concerns, promote normal attachment and aid in the prevention and treatment of post partum depression. This practical tool can allow mothers to return to work with a breastfed baby, care for herself, her house and her other children, exercise and much more- all while meeting the needs of her baby. CERPS (IBCLC) & CEUS (DONA) will be offered for this session.

Wrapping I (Wednesday 1-2pm): Due to the popularity of this class, it has been split into 2 groups. You will be assigned your group at the conference. Instructors Block A: Gillian Beerman Gretchen Otto Pimentel Melissa Radcliffe, Instructors Block B: Beate Frome, Tiffany Leonard, Rochelle Price, Learn how to use a simple piece of cloth (like a bed sheet, a curtain or a few yards of fabric) to safely and comfortably wear your little one. This is geared towards beginners, but a great class for any experience of wrapper. Babywearing without a carrier and/or emergency babywearing)(Wednesday 1-2pm): Instructors: Kristi Hayes-Devlin, Sam Tower From your typical emergency situations (sleeping baby in the car, no carrier BUT you have a pair of jeans and you really need to tie that sleeping babe on for a few) to TRUE emergency situations (natural disasters, shooting event), this class is a MUST.

The Impact of Birthing and Parening Practices on Breastfeeding (Wednesday 1-2pm): Instructors: Arie Brentnall-Compton Learn how birth interventions and common parenting practices can interfere with the breastfeeding relationship, as well as how to implement problem solving alternates.

Babywearing safety (Thursday 9-10am): Due to the overwhelming popularity of this class, it has been split into 2 groups. You will be assigned a room at the conference. Instructors Group A: Beate Frome, Jen Wadleigh, Jan Andrea Heirtzler, Instructors Group B: Susan Gmeiner, Giselle Baturay Tiffany Leonard Babywearing is fun, but you must be safe. Learn how to make sure your infant is secure in the carrier, how to position your baby correctly (and WHY that is so important) and how to practice new carriers safely. Family Nutrition and Making your own Baby Food (Thursday 9-10am): Instructors: Sally Stevens It is hard to teach children good nutrition and as we run from task to task we often neglect our own health. Also, in this day or processed foods, it is nice to know how to create healthy foods simply and how to start our childrens' eating habits right.

Lactation Consultanting:Giving the Best Advice (Thursday 9-10am): Instructors: Karen Wilson, RN, IBCLC (Mother's Milk Bank in Denver, CO) Are you or do you want to be a Lactation Consultant? A good lactation professional will be able to work with a mom to discover the cause of the problem and make recommendations to re-mediate it early on, whether the problem is soreness , low supply, etc. Come learn some of the tricks of the trade on how to make your new parent feel their best, at ease, and have the up most confidence in you as a lactation professional. Are you or will you be working in a hospital or a private clinical setting? We will be talking about the features and benefits of both careers. Taught by an RN IBCLC

ABC's and SSCs (Thursday 10:30-11:30): Due to the overwhelming popularity of this class, it has been split into 2 groups. You will be assigned a room at the confernece. Instructors Block A: Kelley Mason, Melissa Radcliffe Instructors Block B: Elizabeth Strong, Kimber Tower Some of the most popular carriers out there, this will be a fun class for anyone with or without experience with a more structured 2 shoulder carrier.

Using Babywearing to Improve Outcomes in a clinical setting (Thursday 10:30-11:30): Instructor: Arie Brentnall-Compton This workshop will use roll-play demonstrations to illustrate how health care professionals can implement babywearing & the baby led breastfeeding technique into their work with families. CERPS (IBCLC) & CEUS (DONA) will be offered for this session. Childbirth involving VBAC (ICAN)and other Birth Options Thursday 10:30-11:30am): Instructors: Sally Stevens and Birth Network of Idaho Talk to an ICAN leader about how you CAN have a wonderful birthing experience after a C-Section (Childbirth instructors are encouraged to attend).

So you want to start a babywearing (or other baby) business(Friday 9-10am) : Instructors: Darien Wilson, Rochelle Price, Gillian Beerman Do you dream of owning your own babywearing business? Want to sell products or find another way to make money at home? Have big plans for taking over the industry? Come talk to former and current babywearing business owners who will give you a realistic view of how the industry works, tips to starting successfully and ideas on how to plan your "endgame".

Building a bond for adoptive children, foster children and for care givers (nannies, day cares etc) (Friday 9-10am): Instructor: Jeni Deforges An excellent class for any caretaker, adoptive or foster parent. Babywearing can increase bonding in a comfortable way. Learn how you can use this practice to relieve babies in a new environment.

Babywearing and Breastfeeding (Friday 10:30-11:30am): Due to the overwhelming popularity of this class, we will be splitting it into 2 blocks. You will be assigned your room at the conference. Instructors Block A: Melissa Radcliffe, Kelley Mason Instructors Block B: Kimber Tower, Darien Wilson Want to take multi tasking to a whole new level? This class is for you! Taught by mama's who have been there, this is a very hands on class. Excellent for LLL leaders and Health care professionals. "Kung Fu" babywearing (Self Defense while babywearing) (Friday 10:30-11:30am): Instructor: Sam Tower Babywearing mamas need to be MAMA BEARS sometimes! Learn how to protect yourself and keep your attached baby safe. Emphasis on how to avoid dangerous situations. This will be a hands on class. We will not allow you to wear your baby during the hands on portion so be prepared to wear a bag of flour! Special waiver will be required for this class. The legal aspect of a babywearing business (Friday 10:30-11:30) : Instructors: Gretchen Otto-Pimtel, Rochelle Price, Gillian Beerman So you've decided to dive into a babywearing business. Or, you've been in the biz for a few years. You NEED this class.

Babywearing more than one (Friday 1-2pm): Instructor: Kristi Hayes-Devlin Come to learn or come to be amazed! This extremely popular class is always a hoot to watch. How many children can YOU wear at once? Babywearing Manufacturing for Business (Friday 1-2pm) : Instructors: Darien Wilson, Rochelle Price, Jan Heirtzler This is a great opportunity to learn about what it takes to manufacture your own design. Learn from those who have been there.

Babywearing to improve public health outcomes (Friday 1-2pm): Instructor: Arie Brentnall-Compton Babywearing is a practical tool mothers can use to implement skin to skin care, optimize breastfeeding, minimize the impact of postpartum depression, facilitate normal attachment and more. Health care professionals will learn how their advocacy of babywearing can improve community health outcomes, particularly as related to breastfeeding. CERPS (IBCLC) & CEUS (DONA) will be offered for this session. How to start and maintain a babywearing group in your area (Friday 1-2pm): Panel Members: Cindy Maxwell, Ann Marie Rogerson, Angela Taylor, Marie Harris, Gretchen Otto Pimtel and a member of Babywearing International (Due to the demand for more medical based classes and the acknowledgement that this class appeals to a smaller group, it will be held in a smaller venue and different time, but we still believe it is a very important class. Thank you for understanding this schedule change.) Have you caught the babywearing bug? Do you want to start a group in your area? Talk to these leaders about large and small groups, how to start them and keep them rolling. After classes are over we will hold 3 entire conference classes/addresses:
