Activities Director: Marie Harris
Marie Harris was born and raised in the Sacramento California area by two parents from Idaho.
Every year as she was growing up she would visit South Eastern Idaho during the summers for family reunions.
Marie grew to love Idaho and when she graduated high school decided to attend BYU-Idaho.
This is where she met her husband after her roommates called a random number in the phonebook.
Marie and Drew were married in 2000 and moved to Southern California so he could attend art school.
A few months after her husband graduated in 2004 they had their first child William.
Shortly after he was born the Harris family moved to Idaho.
Marie got involved with her local health departments breast-feeding program and became a Peer Breast-feeding Counselor.
She and Drew welcomed their second child Isabelle into their family during this time.
When Marie was pregnant with her third child she had a joint baby shower with her friend Natalie Martin.
As they were opening presents Marie was surprised to see a gift to her from Natalie’s friend Kimber Tower (whom she had never met before).
Kimber gave Marie a beautiful Ball Baby Carrier and that is when Marie’s love of babywearing began.
Marie started to attend the local Idaho Babywearing meetings and got to try on a Sleeping Baby Ring Sling.
Marie and her new baby Kate loved the sling and Marie loved how she could still hold the hands of her other two kids and carry her baby.
Marie is now currently co-president of the Idaho Babywearing Group and is really excited to be involved in the 2010 International Babywearing Conference.
She also loves to volunteer her husbands artistic talent for the conference.
Don’t you just love the logo? The Idaho Babywearers certainly do!
